We are definitely not going to war with iran. Proof? We are leaving iraq. If we wanted to go to war with iran, we'd keep even more men on the ground in iraq..

So we're going to preserve an opportunity for Israeli airstrike by... removing our capabilities of keeping the airspace clear... and you bring this up in a thread about how the US is going to war with Iran?

Its a possibility, but I doubt it. Obviously Iran has interest and influence there, but it has that in the entire region.
While it has the whole religion thing going for it, it has two major obstacles.
The Iran-Iraq war. Iraq is a pretty nationalistic country and that conflict rubs many there on both sides. Its true that it was decades ago, but its still too soon for it to just work past.
Iraq is Arab, Iran is Aryan(Persian). In fact, only 2% of Iran is Arab. I'd argue that this fact more than cancels out the religion commonality.

Iraq is not very nationalistic.
Iraq has christians which have been pretty much forcedto leave.
There are kurds who arent really in with the arabs and would probably rther seperate.
Thenyou have the sunni and shiite muslims - which are at each others heads. The sunni were more secular but a minority but saddam was also sunni. Iran is mostly shite. The shite in iraq are in control.
Shiite muslims are considered fanatc.

So that is how it's going to happen. BT might be right for the first time ever, which causes a huge imbalance in the universe leading to chaos and catastrophe everywhere and ending in the destruction of all that exists. 2012 is here, and the Mayans knew it all along
