I hope there are more SEC vs. SEC games. One way to kill the BCS is to turn their games into 2nd or 3rd tier sporting events.

Why not everyone considers the 21-14 win by LSU over OU as being destroyed. The 24-14 win by Florida being destroyed. Oh and my favorite, the overtime win by Oregon is often referred to as "when Oregon destroyed Oklahoma".
I guess this means any double digit win (or blatant foul up by the refs) is a destruction of a team.

It doesn't matter what I think. It matters how we were ranked at the end of the season. Also, was that BCS a total and complete smackdown?
Let me help you with that. No, it wasn't.
What I think is that USC would have laid the smackdown on either team. However......there is no controversy here. LSU got wtfpwned. Past that...
If its and buts were candy and nuts.....you'd be parked outside some schoolyard in your van.

LSU lost. Now they're 1-1 vs Alabama. Alabama won bigger, but LSU had a much more impressive body of work.
So did Oklahoma State.
And you've already admitted that the best team isn't always the one that won the championship game.
Someone got to take home the trophy, but nothing is settled.

No....Alabama won the title game.
Playoffs or not, the winner of the Championship game is #1. It really isn't that hard to understand.
This discussion is not about who the best teams are, it's about who finished the season #1, and this year that is pretty clear.
You can sqwauk about who the best teams are but the best team doesn't always win.
Alabama was the best team when and where it counted.

LSU's impressive body of work was against ranked SEC teams. The SEC year in and year out benefit from inflated pre-season rankings. All they have to do is make it through a mainly cream puff ooc schedule and then they play all of these "ranked" conference teams.
The SEC has the worst OOC scheduling year in and year out. Florida plays teams like UAB, FAU and Furman every year with the FSU game the only one that might be a contest (they lost it this year btw). Auburn played Samford, FAU, Clemson, and Utah State. Practically every SEC team's ooc schedule looks like this every year. Sure there are some marquee games but 1 every 2-3 years is not a tough ooc.
