What people fail to understand, though it is evidently obvious, is that politicians see an opportunity to get their message out every time they are asked a question. The ones that make it to the national stage are not going to let you hijack their message. It doesn't matter if they barely respond directly to your question, they know they have at least one ear and will try to use that to spread the message that they choose.
Ron Paul, for instance, doesn't understand this, though he is getting better. If you ever see a politician give a one word response, or not answer something, do yourself a favor and don't vote for them. If they cant get a handle on their own message, they won't be able to run a country.

He said "I don't have lobbyists running my campaign".
He started to say "I don't have lobbyists tied to..." and was cut off. If the reporter from High Times there would have held off for about 4 more seconds, he probably would have caught him in a lie, and could have posed the question "Sir, you say you have no lobbyists tied to your campaign, but Kaufmann is a senior adviser. How do you reconcile these facts?" instead of getting pissy with him and saying "ITS NOT TRUE!".

Mitt doesn't have lobbyists running his campaign, he just has them as his senior adviser. 
The video shows the systemic problems of lobbyists.
Who is this lobbyist they are talking about? Which corporation does he represent?
