I liked the story. I think the main theme of hypocrisy was beautifully centered around her metaphor of the "protagonists" company, as well as her views on humanity in general. I haven't read such a compelling piece of anti-capitalism or anti-Americanism in a while, but it sure did help open my eyes to a new perspective.
I didn't click the link, but it had to do with get predicting the Arab Spring and Occupy Movement, didn't it? It was plain to us who closely followed her works that these would be inevitable.

Randbots are funny because they are so consistently stupid. There is hardly anything prophetic in saying corruption is bad and that too much bereaucracy can stifle economic development.
It's a prediction or prophecy because people like you are too stupid to realize you are cheering and supporting said corruption. And your inability to realize this is what will doom us.

The point is whatever that rant is, a prediction it is not. She is describing the basic setup in the vast majority of world societies for the past several thousand years.
Take medieval Europe if you want. "Trading by compulsion" - check. "Permission from someone who produces nothing" - check. "Corruption" - check. Etc etc. If anything it is a historical observation, not a prediction.

The transcontinental railroads were built on some of the largest federal subsidies, the worst exploitation of workforce in the history of the country (probably second only to slavery), and biggest cases of cronyism in its era. To read Rand's work as anything other than ironic, especially when she repeats the "Get out of my way!" mantra, is simply simpleminded.
Dagny: "My grandfather built this railroad through backbreaking labor*, sheer hard work**, and his*** own money. Theres something very wrong when a country wakes up to the fact that it is being exploited and is too lazy to sacrifice lives for my profit. Who are they to demand I pay my taxes?"
