Why do I always have a toon that gets the first Nerf/ In DAOC it was my smite cleric. And it is always caused by the whines of PvPers! This time they nail my crafter for the two things that I took up crafting for! grrr So which toon or craft is next?


"BioChem crafted medical kits were too good. In fact, they were too good both in the amount of healing they provided (often more than half a character’s health) and the frequency they could be used (every 90 seconds!). This was negatively impacting the game for everyone else. We’ve seen significant chatter both in and out of game about how players not picking up the BioChem professions would be ‘stupid’ and ‘gimping themselves’. This indicates that a small number of competitive players have been denying access to high end content based on whether a player has the BioChem Crew Skill.


Cybertech grenades, especially when stacked with additional power-ups and other temporary buffs, were creating combat damage burst potential higher than we were comfortable with and caused player versus player engagements in the game to resolve faster than intended. In fact we have additional changes to classes and consumables currently in internal testing to deal with faster than anticipated kill times in player versus player combat in a future patch."

The real power right now would be to go up Cybertech, craft yourself the reusable grenades, then switch over to Biochem. The grenades are only BOP, they don't actually have a Cybertech skill requirement to use them.

Biochem is clearly overpowered though. Multiple people in my guild have switched over max or nearly so professions to Biochem because the reusable consumables are just too useful.

Another abuse of Biochem is for non-healers in PVP matches. The health kits let non-healers get two easy healing medals. Of course, that is probably fixable just by making those not count towards the medals and not actually nerfing anything outside of PVP.

PVP is retarded. It sux because it's an RPG, and it often ruins what RPGs are actually good at, persistent building of pve power.

The medpack nerf is stupid beyond belief. It just makes you need biochem even more.


The biggest good changes are the nerfs to grenades and adrenals stacking. That will prevent them having to nerf classes dramatically.

whats the medpack nerf?

im glad they saw that the real problem was biochem and nerfed that instead of gutting classes within the first month

Yeah those are nerfed but they are lower level ones so we will have to see how it badly those levels got it. They were the whole reason I have been leveling the Bio up!

I think part of the problem is that BioChem and to a lesser degree CyberTech are the only crafting professions that are actually useful at max level. All of the strictly gear-focused crafting professions end up being pretty much useless at this time once you start getting PVP or raid gear.

im a level 33 Merc, life is harsh in pvp.

Why do I keep on choosing gimp classes, I should have gone sith inquisitor
