Do you even know what the civil rights movement was about? It was about being against the Jim Crow laws THAT WERE UNCONSTITUTIONAL AND WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN SUPPORTED BY ANY LIBERTARIAN...... No group should get any special treatment but there should be no law that discriminates any group. Learn how to think like an adult.

You're only partially right. It was about restoring dignity to both the oppressed blacks and the oppressive white establishment through non-violent means. Ultimately it meant social and economic reforms. The Jim Crow laws only touched the surface. Ron Pauls policies would be anti-economic justice because Ron Pauls policies woul, as you said, ignore the centuries of oppression suffered. Simply abolishing racist official laws and establishments would only fix a small minority of issues Blacks faced at the time, and would probably just eventually reshuffle the oppression. So I ask again, if he wants to call MLK an ally, where was he during the movement?

People like Altra make me sick. Ron Paul is the only person that wants to repeal the drug laws that are far more damaging to the black and minority communities than the Jim Crow laws yet he wants to act self righteous and attack RP for saying that there should be no legislation that favors one group over another.

Bitch and moan, twist and squirm, the truth is Ron Paul is only tagging along on the civil rights movement after the heavy lifting is done. He wants to ally himself with great figures in American History in the hopes that it will increase his brand recognition, yet his supporters let him get away with picking and choosing select parts of the movement. Ron Paul holds these Americans in high esteem... as tools he can use to cloak his unjust opinions in.
