You don't consider contemplation and meditation to be part of study or intellectual expansion?

Enkidu, I accept your worldview. However, we have different metaphysical underpinnings. I have access to deeper layers of what I call soul in contemplation. The soul is the brain of a spiritual life. Without getting caught up in the mind-body problem, I do believe : All is One. So, your position is as true as mine.

Enkidu, talking about silence is somewhat contradictory.
Try meditating, if you dont already. It may have an impact on you as a scientist (i.e. predispose you to new discoveries).
