Newt Gingrich sought an "open marriage," his former wife, Marianne, told ABC News in an interview airing tonight.
Marianne Gingrich told ABC's Nightline that the former House speaker asked her if he could remain married to her while also seeing another woman, Callista Gingrich, his current wife.
That's apparently the big shocker.
Wouldn't matter to me, but I'm not a conservative. I can see how this could be damning for him, especially in a state like South Carolina who is already reeling from Sanford's fallout.

Dont think to many OP RWN's care for Newt all that much. The guys a dirt bag. you can be married and be in a horrible marriage. Shoving cigars in other chicks and getting hummers in the Oval office while being married doesnt make you a good husband. Both are scum when it comes to women. That doesnt mean you cant be a good pres though according to the left

when a huge percentage of your base are dumbMOD who only care about morality as the bible teaches it, this is a big deal. the day both parties have moved beyond that crap to focus on real issues is the day we'll get some actually important accomplished in this country,

I believe he was already cheating on his wife when he asked her for the open marriage. He probably only asked for the open marriage because someone was threatening to tell his wife about the affair.
