What you do for a living isn't about "fun"...it's about making a paycheck.

I hated every second of every day of my "career". I often thought of killing everyone, including myself, when I was at work. I guess some people get lucky and get paid to do stuff they don't hate....never met anyone who was that fortunate however.

Exactly. I work to live. I barely scrape by but to have a roof over my head, money for simple pleasures, a car, and food on the table is wonderful especially compared to my life before with my father.

I've been living paycheck to paycheck for 5 years. My job in radio was fun. My life outside of radio was enjoyable, but not nearly as fun as I'd like. That's why I'm going back to school, I think.

So are we starting a rock band or not? I saw a sweet set of bottles on the craigs list, and need to grab them quick if so. Is that what they're called?

i personally enjoy my job. There are some stressful moments trying to meet some deadlines, but I like the work. Seeing stuff I design like ion sources, liquid helium cryostats, etc come to life from what I think in my head to what's in front of me is always interesting and engaging to me.

My job in the navy was mind numbingly boring. I spent 4 years training for it, and then when I got to do it....all I did was record what a couple of meters were reading every 15 minutes. 4 freaking years of school for that?

My job after the military was horrible. I sold people, which sounds sorta cool but was actually awful. Running a temp employee service exposed me to the worst of both the looking for a job and the looking to hire someone worlds. Most people looking for a job are god damn idiots, and most people looking to hire someone are fucking stupid. I made money by convincing the stupid people hiring someone that the idiot I had to offer was a better option than hiring some other idiot off the street.

Amazingly....quite a few of them believed it and paid me to hire my idiot.

Every single day I was thankful for the almost limitless stupidity of most managers in this country.

You sound kind of like a little bitch. Sorry to say it, but that's all I got from your OP.
