What are the conditions of the bet? I'm pretty firmly of the belief that there will be no conflict with Iran in the near future (assuming they don't do something really, really stupid like bomb Israel).

The US doestn to to war or really declare war anymore. The reason for this is simple. Congress wants to be able totally blame the president for the war and take no blame themself

I'd say something around September or October - Obama will be banking on voters not wanting to switch presidents during a major conflict... Or maybe even November and elections will be 'postponed' in the interest of national Security

It depends on what China wants.
I can see China getting on board if we let them in the coalition to take care of Iran. I'd imagine they'd do it if we let them take control of Iran's oil after.

It is totally dependent on Israel. If Israel feels sanctions and assassins are not holding back Irans nuclear program, they will preemptively strike. Thats when everyone gets drawn into war.

I guess the US just wants to create conditions which will eventually lead to war.
