Poor George Lucas. His great return to film gets pwned by a sequel to one of the worst movies ever.

Admittedly, the Underworld series is not exactly Grate Cinemaâ„¢, but it's far from "one of the worst movies ever".

Avatar was an expensive turd rehashed as a familiar story with horrible acting, plot and not to mention loads of suicidal people who wished to be on Pandora.

Kedz is giving the movie far to much credit in this statement.

I never said it wouldn't make money.

Bad movies make money all the time. Look at The Devil Inside, which came out the first week of January. It has 7% on Rotten Tomatoes - meaning, it is *bad* - but made over 33 million in its opening weekend.

There is no correlation between a good film and how much money it makes, just as there is no correlation between cheeseburgers and how many sell. It's all about marketing. McDonald's makes crappy burgers, yet sell the most - because they manage the marketing well.

The unfortunate side effect is that Hollywood does not focus on making "good" films - instead they focus on making "marketable" films. It is a business, first and foremost, and their main interest is making money.
