Cats are like that. They take time to warm up to you.
When we lived on the farm, it took a year for a cat I named Thunder to warm up to me - and I was feeding him every day. He's now a comfy housecat (not mine)
It took my cat six months of feeding him every day to get him to warm up to me, then I trapped him and took him home. He's definitely my Cat now years later - such an affection lil guy.
