It reminds me of the saying, "I don't walk the straight and narrow but I cross it as often as I can."

Good intentions are personal.

What is good to you may not be to me.

I would take someone that was willing to conform to my views of "good" over someone that is willing to follow theirs.

Is that harsh? Probably.

But it is a simple truth in life.

I don't think so. Our current situation in this country is a perfect example of why.

Good intentions are far more precious than ability. Ability can be taught and refined, but there is little you can do to change the character of a person.

Most of the people fucking up our country today have good intentions.

The road to hell is truly paved with them.

I have a hard time believing they have good intentions, but I can't say for certain they don't.

The problem with placing importance on intent is that it's impossible to know what's going on in another person.

I see a bunch of well educated intelligent people arguing over wedge issues that will have no real affect on the problems we're facing.

I can only conclude 2 possibilities:

1. They're out for themselves and are using wedge issues to gain power.

2. They're stupid.

In either scenario they need to be removed from public service.

Intent is a good issue to bring up.

Do those who push for trickle down economics intend to screw up the US or are they just stupid?

I find it easier to forgive stupid than greed.

Then there are those who are both.

If you are a Christian in the Bible there is a verse about someone doing good works and miracles in Jesus' name. He basically says its cool. It doesnt matter the reason they are done as long as they are done

Intent matters more than effect to me

That is just a crazy statement to me. I mean if your employee was screwing up constantly but meant well you wouldn't fire him/her?

You can work with an employee that has good intent. You can't work with one that doesn't even if the results are ok at first.
