My daughters are so much nicer when they are grounded!

Well, they both brought home a couple of low math scores (not failing, but not what I expect) and so they are grounded.
Well I should say they are also grounded for not really doing their chores as they should.
So no phone
No computer
No tv
Nothing but books until further notice.
We made a contract that hangs on the fridge with certain steps to get back privileges - mostly related to test scores, homework scores and chores.
Anyhow, since they have been grounded they have been awesome. They have been playing scrabble at the dining room table, making paintings, practicing their instruments and talking to us at length about school and the books they are reading.
In fact we just had a great conversation about Of Mice and Men versus Catcher in the Rye.
Here's my conundrum - why would I ever unground them??????

Of Mice and Men is an awesome story.
My parents used to ground me all the time, it was a reason to spend 12 hours in front of the T.V. playing Sega. It took them awhile before they realized they had to take away the T.V. too.

Poet's daughters will either up end super successful hard working women, or they will go crazy one they get out of daddy's house.
That's what happened to me.
I didn't drink or do any drugs until I was 20 and out of my parents house. Once I spread my wings things got crazy.
