Let me know what you think. I posted a poll earlier today about what my next phone should be and the Nexus is my current top choice. Mostly I'm worried that the Verizon version will come with all their crappy paid apps instead of the decent free Google ones, but you can usually get around that by not ordering the Verizon version.

I work for a cellular carrier. I've seen everything available. The Nexus is hands down the best (GSM) phone out there.

CDMA sucks. I'd wait for consumer reviews.

nexus has an inferior camera. processor. and does not have lte. in canada anyways.

the galaxy sii lte is a better phone. the nexus only advantage is a higher def screen. but the diffrence is minimal at this screen size

I've heard that GSM is better, but it doesn't really matter if the local GSM carriers don't have enough coverage to use it. CDMA (Verizon) is pretty much my only option. Reviews for the Galaxy have been mostly positive (both consumer and tech sites) but there are some issues, one particularly with Verizon not loading Google's stuff where they have competing products. They've pulled similar stunts in the past with other phones. With the Droid X you had to get the Google stamped ones or else you were locked into Verizon's GPS and mapping tools, which you had to pay extra for.

I don't really care much about the camera. Very few smartphones have decent cameras in indoor lighting, and there are usually other drawbacks that make them less desirable. The RAZR has a better camera, but it's Motorola and I'm not too keen on repeating my Droid X experience.

Not sure why you'd say the processor is inferior, it's a 1.2GB dual core same as the other high-end models available now, unless there's something wrong with the chipset itself.

I have a friend that just got his first smart phone. He's had it a couple of months. I showed him how, in maps, when you do a search you can hit the tiny microphone icon and say "Home Depot" and it will show you all the Home depots near you.

He flipped out on how cool that was.

Just be careful, I found that smart phones don't swim well in sulfuric acid.
