Isn't that the point? However you do it it isn't based on science.
I choose to believe human life has inherent value because I consider my own life to be inherently valuable and I see no reason there's anything special about me. But I don't labor under any delusion that my judgment is verifiable scientifically. I can verify that other people think their lives are valuable but that doesn't tell me they're right.

But I changed my comment because I thought it was funnier to skewer you for using an appeal to authority given your pretentious lecture about sources of knowledge.
