"It's a new frontier in civil rights," Kerr said in his summary of the case. Slavery does not depend on the species of the slave any more than it depends on race, gender, or ethnicity, he argued. "Coercion, degradation, and subjugation characterize slavery, and these orcas have endured all three."
Hey, maybe while they're at it they can outlaw non-vegan lifestyles. Then down with the mousetrap. Fly paper. Pesticides of all kinds. Flyswatters. Live traps (after all, they could stress the poor critters).
Leather will HAVE to go. In fact, why stop there?
Cutting grass should be illegal, too. After all, it's the natural habitat for bugs and animals!
Out with fishing poles, cast nets, hooks and the like! Cars should only be allowed to drive at speeds that will not kill an innocent bug! Think of the bugs, all those senseless murders that a happen where the murder weapon is a car grill or windshield.
Come to think of it, just because the species isn't human doesn't mean that it doesn't deserve human rights like he said! What about the poor plants that are exploited for greedy man's use?!
Down with cotton, corn, soybeans, wheat, barley, hops, oats! Free the grains! Free the trees! Free the weeds! (yes, that means that you pot heads can NO LONGER abuse these innocent plants!)
I'm not sure if rocks and soil have the same rights yet, but I'm pretty sure they do...
