I think you might be right on the late part re Romney but not sure its going to be Jeb.

America so hated Bush by the end that we shot ourselves in the foot and elected Obama out of spite.
I don't think an unrelated Bush could get the VP spot much less George's brother.

Jeb will lay low this election. He will rear his ugly head in 2016 or later.
He will also not settle for VP. It will be a run for commander in chief.

This is one of those things that people believe because they fear it could be true. There is zero rational reason to believe that Jeb could make a run at the Whitehouse.
The Democrats have been running on "not Bush" for 10 years. That's how hated the Bush name is now.
