@ Paulg: I've said before that if Paul could get anywhere within firing distance, I'd vote for him, in this environment, at this time. Again, it is because of this environ and Congressional makeup. It would force Congress to drop all the BS and fight to basically keep the country from disintegrating under Paul. And, I'm convinced he wouldn't live more than 9 months in office.
The exec orders Paul would issue would in fact help give the country the shock-and-awe diet it needs.
Hence, a message would be sent. A martyr to the cause of smaller government would be born, and maybe some others who are actually of similar philosophy but better qualified with less insane foreign policy stances would be swept into office.
Or so the theory goes.

Assume Ron Paul won't get within firing distance (which he won't.) Who will you vote for in your state's primary?
I'm with Gary Johnson to the bitter end. Which sadly is how it will end.

I've seen that movie many times. It's a great movie and pretty awesome guitar work. It is also interesting (and highly ironic) that you posted it in defense of Ron Paul...ironic because you think (R) Ron Paul is somehow different than (R) <insert politician's name here>.
You would think by watching that movie that Jack (Steve Vai) was dueling Eugene (Ralph Macchio) in a battle of Good v. Evil, for the living SOUL OF MANKIND, but obviously this is not possible because Macchio can't play guitar for spit. Here's where it gets ironical: Other than some of the slide work we saw from Eugene (courtesy of Ry Cooder btw), Steve Vai actually played both guitar parts in the film, including and especially Eugene's Trick Bag, which cliched the duel for Macchio's character.
You honestly believe that Eugene is real, that Eugene is going to come in, fight the good fight, and defeat Jack (and Scratch). What you hilariously fail to realize/refuse to admit is that Eugene IS Jack.
