I think I got it for $10, played about 20 minutes of it and decided I was done.

With all the technology we have developed since "Balder's Gate 2" its sad that it is still probably the best video RPG out there.

Baldur's Gate had a boring story and an awful collection of grating, horribly unlikable characters. Minsc might as well be Jar Jar Binks. And BG2 made the mistake of revolving almost entirely around Imoen -- I wanted to stab myself every time one of those whiny dream sequences popped up. Icewind Dale's anonymous player-made characters were a thousand-times better.
Planescape Torment is a work of art.

Icewind Dale was definitely a lot of fun. We installed that at work and played it on the network as an early mmo-lite. Awesome

I take it as an interactive book, and that works well
Isabela: How's marriage been treating you, big girl?
Aveline: It's been good. No, great. I'd forgotten what it was like to...
Isabela: Be flipped ass over tits and hammered like a bent nail?
Aveline: To. Be. Loved.
Isabela: Oh. Right, of course.
Aveline: Not that I'm complaining about the other thing.

You can play BG2 with all player made characters.
