Its fun shooting birds but mass killing is pretty lame. Thinning numbers is one thing. I always shot sparrows, hawks, crows, raccoons, possums, fox's, squirrels, gophers, every now and then a cat or dog ( they had a habit of getting hit on the free way and thrown into the ditch where my chickens were ) so I'd put em down. 4 or 5 I found after they had bled out already. But I shot things because they spread disease, ate the chicken feed, and killed my chickens, ducks or turkeys. Not that I didnt enjoy the target practice though because I did

I can see population reduction as an exercise in conservation or vermin control, and I can see hunting to eat. I'm no fan of hunting for trophy's but there isn't much I can do about that.

But killing for the sake of killing? Just to see animals die? Or talk about them as though they are inanimate objects? You have issues.

That is precisely what a pigeon shoot is. They could shoot skeet but where's the fun in that when you can shoot a dove's cousin?

Honestly, they should just gas those masses of pigeons they catch because in the end the population control of the species is the issue, and frankly, ammo is too expensive imo to waste on pigeons like that which will offer considerably less useful practice than shooting up a pile of clay pigeons at the local trap/skeet/sporting clays/5 stand range will give.

It has nothing to do with killing for the sake of killing, or just to see them die. It's to see if you can actually hit a moving target that isn't following a predictable path like skeet does.

He has serious issues.

1.) Wants a Christian form of Sharia law.
2.) Hates boobs.
3.) Hates the gays.
4.) Enjoys killing small animals for the sake of his own personal pleasure.

Destroying property is cool, because these guys are stupid and like animals and stuff.

I may need to reread the story again but my impression is that the drone was used to invade private property. And not just invade it but also to privately spy on others.

If it was below 500 feet, and it almost had to have been to be hit in the first place, then it was trespassing.

The courts have never specified an exact altitude at which your property rights over the air above you extend to... only leaving it as a generality. The un-codified standard is 500 feet (which can be further altered depending upon your proximity to air or helicopter ports) Essentially everything up to that is yours - and if the remote controlled plane is below that altitude (and it almost certainly was) then it was fair game.

In this case, literally.
