Yeah just think of the terrible things that could have happened, like... well... I dunno you tell me.
A percentage of people exposed to inhalers... depending on the ingredients... can have panic attacks or nausea, or worse reactions like cardiac rhythm disruption and allergic reactions ranging from hives to breathing trouble.

Someone 'having a little breathing trouble' does not justify an inhaler and ANY risk associated. Thinking otherwise is just plain stupid.
If there was a life-threatening event, then yeah, try it and see what happens. You've got little to lose.

This.
If that kid had some serious reaction to the medicine you can bet their asses would have been sued, so they have to cover their ass. That's why the policy exists, sad to say the kids safety is the secondary concern.
Blame our litigation happy society.

Wait ten days then read what happened. Its very bad policy to make up your mind in the first blush of an /outrage story. That does NOT change the correctness of your assessment of Americans, however.

Actually, this is AFTER the 10 days. It is an update to the original story.
Both were given 10-day suspensions while they investigated the incident whereupon one was expelled and the other was let back.
So not only are they idiots, they can't even apply equal justice.

I didn't read that. If they indeed PERMANENTLY expelled a student for that, then yes. Someone is completely sh*tf*ck batsh*t crazy.

I used to have asthma as a kid so I am curious to know how much trouble breathing she was having. If it truly was a serious issue and she couldn't breathe then the school is retarded.
Having an asthma attack sucks.
