We could test your theory by taking all the babies born next year and shuffling them and taking names out of a pot and reassigning them. I am sure the trust fund kiddies who ended up with the crack whore moms would do awesome and be millionaires by the time they were 20, while the babies with poor parents who ended up trust fund kiddies would have found some way to squander all their trust fund money by age 18 and 2 months.

I think everyone in this thread already accepted that genetics have some impact on success. The point of contention is your faulty implication that genetics is the reason rich people's kids tend to be rich too, rather than the bank accounts of their parents.
