Oil prices were stable for 20+ years. Then Dubya happened and destabilized the entire region and created the environment we see today that allows the wide price/speculation swings. It's all the speculators fault. Demand is so low you have oil reserves at highs around the world. You have oil being stored in everything including tankers parked in bays around the world. The market is broken. Surely republican's are smart enough to know this? Or are they? LOLROFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't post the article because I am on my phone but Rolling Stone reporter Matt Taibbi did an article on oil speculation. He cited reports from the wiki leaks cables where the Bush administration tried to get the Saudis to up production and they said its not that it's a lack of buyers and to rein in wall street. Obviously Bush didn't do that but this was circa 2008, he didn't do much.
Once Obama came into office he had the ability to put more oversight into commodities speculation and wouldn't you know it, he didn't.
