I find quoting excerpts and sourcing the quotes a much more effective way to continue a discussion. It's usually how people act in person, except the internet allows you the opportunity to research and source your opinions instead of saying "some guy [vague paraphrase]."
I started the thread in an attempt to have a discussion, not a suggested reading club.

The analysis didn't really prove anything substantial, except that some people got $2 million. It didn't say what the trickle down result was. The problem with the theory is that that part isn't very quantifiable. Technically, money trickled down. How much reached the people at the 'end' of the trickle? One extra paycheck? More? Less? Much more? Perhaps their very jobs? Or nothing?
So you have some people who got 2 mil for pretty much nothing, and a bunch of people who had to work damn hard for probably a fraction of a percent of that.
It's funny, all you really have to do is look at the definition of trickle to understand why it's inequitable.

You have to strike a balance between maintaining the incentive to achieve, and the needs of all the people who make that achievement possible.
Too much in either direction is bad.
