We have seen lots of civil wars in the Middle East. Can you imagine yourself as a normal citizen of one of these countries. What would drive you to fight, if anything?

I wouldn't unless it was to save my family, or it was the only way I could provide necessities for them.
Other than that I'd do my best to avoid the areas of conflict and get the things needed to survive.
I'm not a hero, and I don't care what happens to anyone but my family. I can't do them much good dead even if it were for a noble cause.
You can't eat ideals.

When i was younger - not much (assuming i agree with the movement). Now a days, only if i felt it was necessary.

They'd have to restrict a lot of our rights, make life in general miserable to live (high taxes, daily curfew, no entertainment to distract us), and most importantly, take away our guns (good luck with that in the US).
An unarmed population is a lot easier to control than one with ready access to guns.
