The government at this time isnt a pure sham. Its corrupt but its still a functioning democracy. The sham will come later. The roman style of things is how I imagine the US government ending up after some HUGE disaster or two.

The Roman Republic fell because a barbarian invasion and the defeat of one or more of their armies lead to a crisis which resulted in a reform of their military. This reform allowed the country to to survive but it created super generals which eventually lead to civil war and the end of the Republic.

the largest body of water in Wyoming is Yellowstone Lake... if "aircraft carrier" is on their list of priorities in the event of a government collapse, i daresay they have their priorities so far out of whack that their entire ability to manage federal money at all should be questioned.

Gotta agree with this. We as a country are already headed down this path with the Patriot Act, TSA, etc. Steady erosion of civil liberties until we wake up in a police state someday.
