Nobody could give two s**ts about the working class... the relatively unskilled high-school grads who want to work for a living in a factory, auto mechanic shop, or plumber's shop.
Obama to the working class: STFU and go to college lol
Romney to the working class: DIAF
Obama & Romney in one voice: We'll use undocumented immigrants forever as our working class

College is not the only path for people. Trade schools and trades should also be funded and focused on.

Fix PCs/Appliances/electronics Sorry, they are all disposable devices now.
Plumbing / Framing / Electrical / HVAC? Sorry, you call the certified tradesman and he sends out his unlicensed workers to do the actual work. You know, that due that makes $7.25 an hour just wired your electrical panel.

*shrugs* depends on what part of the country your in, I can think of one right now that nobody knows about but if your good you can make in excess of 6 figures a year easy.
there are more, people just dont know wher eto look or they are not willing to move to where the jobs are.

There are still a large number of welding jobs that are hand done, one of the father at my daughters school is a welder repairing Caterpillar equipment and he makes really good money.
