In or right after high school, i differentiated between Evil, Bad, and bad. Evil is an act against God, it doesn't really help us much on Earth, its really a personal struggle. bad is something adverse happening to you personally or within your small sphere.
Bad, is what I call what most consider Evil. Its an act against humanity or society. Against your follow man. These acts are what laws are made for. Bad acts cannot be acceptable to any peaceful society without it crumbling. While there are divergences within each culture, these acts are not labeled Bad arbitrarily.
