I am ok with the "lets not hate on fat people, they have it hard enough." They seem to go beyond that to "being fat is fine!" though.

Being too fat is unhealthy and gross. Just like being too thin is unhealthy and gross. You are never going to get people to think being fat is fine because it isn't.
Whether someone is fat or not should not be the primary means by which they are judged but it's silly to say it doesn't matter at all because it does.

Being too much of anything is by definition too much. If that's how you want to define the argument, fine. There is nothing wrong with being fat, or skinny. Being unhealthy should be the focus. Our society is way too caught up with size when it should be lifestyle and health we worry about.
