If only the government would quit coddling the homeless guy who sleeps on my corner and has open sores all over his body, he probably would straighten up a get a job.

The point is to show that the "living on welfare is so easy!" people never apply it to themselves because it actually isn't so easy. It sucks. The rant only makes sense coming from committed elitists like Paul who think poor people are inherently inferior and therefore will accept sucky conditions so they can be lazy.
 I have never seen anyone saying living on welfare is great or easy. Many do live on it because they ARE lazy. It sucks. They know it sucks, but they don't change it. Some people are just content there.

I dont know how they can stand it. I dont have the best job in the world but I would rather do that than be on welfare.

As someone who works with the homekess there is a solid percentage who refuse to use the shelters because of all the hoops ( like drug testing as one example ) the state forces them to jump through

You haven't seen a Rakhir post here about how people on welfare all have flat screen tvs and collect 50k+ in benefits per year and live better than most americans?

One of you two are confused. Also flat screens are cheap now. I just recently bought my daughter one for school and it was under $300. Sell a couple of bags of dope and you can do that easy. I think you are assuming that the welfare is their only source of income.

If I had to guess, neither you nor anyone else who posts on this board full of stupid has ever lived on or even known someone who has lived on welfare.

I know 2 people who are currently on welfare. I wouldn't call them "lazy" but they've defiantly gave up already on attempting to better themselves and lack pretty much all initiative
One of them used to (i don't think still does) but used to sell his food stamp cards so he could buy other crap (mostly pills, he was/probably still is a major oxy addict). He has had more DUIs too than I thought was even allowed (3 that I know for sure). The other was just a college drop out that I guess didn't want to go back to his parent's house, or something. They might've changed, it's been over a year since I spoke with either of them
Oh yeah my cousins/aunt/uncle are also, I totally forgot about them. They're total junkies. An entire family of junkies and one of them is a hardcore evangelical, oddly enough, which got him fired once
