Wow, glad the US government isn't the only organization on earth that spends a lot of time and effort on nothing, then touts it's accomplishments after having done nothing worth talking about. Way to go interpol.

although some of the stuff 'they' do is stupid, i believe they fight for and draw attention to the need for a continued free and open interwebnets

Interpol must act under the jurisdiction of the FBI when in the US, although Obama by executive order gave Interpol complete immunity when 'on the job' in the US.
PS If any of them were actually to go to trial I would contribute heavily to their defense fund.

There is no need or mandate for a free and open Internet. There is an incredible naïveté in that sentiment boardering on stupid. As soon as the Internet became a medium for financial transactions, criminal activity, as well as mission critical infratstructure for a number of entities it became a legitimate and necessary target of government regulation. The wild west was probably awesome for a little while too.

I just did a little bit of searching.
One pedophile in 2007 and only because he propositioned one of them and sent lewd photos of himself.
Everything they do makes them look like whiny, suburban teenagers who are mad they can't illegally download software, music etc.
