That gives you a better finishing ratio than the entire Liverpool team.

the funny thing is also that arsenal's defence is terrible, really bad. when you lose RVP you're screwed. 30 goals this season total and 25 are from van persie!

Yeah but we can't hold on to them long enough to build a team any more. Look what happened to Nasri. One good season and he was out the door to somewhere else. Arsenal is becoming a feeder club.
Arsenal's recent model of selling all our best players before they get to be 25 isn't working. They would've sold RVP too I'm sure if he hadn't been injured so often in the past that no one wanted to buy him.
Besides, we don't have another striker. Finding one after RVP leaves is too late. Wenger used to do so well because he had people in the wings ready to come in when the big stars left. RVP was there when Henry went to Barcelona and had been there for years getting ready. Henry was there for a couple years before Bergkamp left. We don't have anyone waiting in the wings. Maybe Oxlade-Chamberlain, but he's years away from really being ready to lead a line.
