Yeah, that is one reason among several why I got a commuter bike. Not saying they are bad, just saying that I don't want to be a captive audience while I am commuting.

I have mixed feelings about it. On a Friday to be honest, I don't mind...I am in a good mood. On other days not so much. And they choose the moment between two stops that are very far apart - this was on the Manhattan Bridge from Canal to Dekalb.

I understand. For people who aren't familiar, these troops often bring either boom boxes or acoustic instruments. The ones with boom boxes also do a lot of yelling and hand clapping to pump up audience reaction...while you are captive on a train car. Hence why I am no fan of this stuff. I can appreciate their attempts to show off their talents, but never when I am captive to it.

The guys with the boom boxes who are there for a little while don't bother me as much as the idiots with the music turned on too loud on their ipods who you have to put up with the ENTIRE commute.

If you mean the people with EARBUDS that you can hear, yeah I hated that. I also hope that they suffer ear damage for being such dimwitted obnoxious asshats who listen to obvious crap.

Yeah earbuds seem to be the culprit 90% of the time. It's rare to see someone using real headphones having big sound leakage.
