Don't quit until you signed the w2 for your new job

So how am I supposed to do that Bonk?

Call out sick the day I start my new job? Then quit via email?

They aren't going to yank it away. My best friend works where I'm going. They've been setting up my desk and chatting her up about me all week. I've also gotten a ton of unsolicited recommendations from other peers who know people at the place I'm going to.

The new job is secure.

Fist no regrets. Things turned out the way they did. You made the best decision you could at the time and youve lived to a good old age. Life is good dude

Life is good because my wife makes a nice bit of money. Did not start out that way but it was how it turned out. I'm greatful as heck that it did. I love my life. Nevertheless I have this darn memory that will not let me fool myself. I can see all of my mistakes as if they were yesterday. Wrong thing said, stupid things done. Nothing I can do about them but I'm human, I have regrets.

Of those three words, grown is the only one that accurately describes them.

But tbh, I didn't know what to expect. I'm a lifelong tech worker and have never had to quit a job. Every single job (until this one) I've had as an adult I've gotten laid off from.

Wise words Fisty, I'd heed them.
Should lower the cranky factor too.

So many people quit the wrong way. If you are going to be working in the same industry your best bet is to tell your boss you are leaving before your fellow employees, finish any projects you are working on and even offer to train your replacement. You might have to grit your teeth through some of it but it will probably pay off in the long run.

I could argue this with you Bonzo, but it would require bringing you up to speed on SCRUM and agile development in general.

I didn't leave anyone in the lurch. And in SCRUM in particular, your team has to be the first to know.

I wasn't talking to you I was just making a general observation. So many people want to tell their boss what an idiot they are and it usually works against you in the long run. You seem to have taken a pretty level headed approach in protecting yourself and still handling thing so if even if you aren't leaving on a good note at least it is neutral.
