There is short term and long term...
I think we would be much safer long term if everyone knew the truth, might be a bit chaotic in the short term but, meh - freedom is worth the inconvenience.

You have it half right. It really goes: Conservative: Helping the poor get out of poverty. Liberals: helping the poor stay in poverty. Those are the facts vs. the propaganda the liberals so love to repeat. As is the case with all Liberal failures, they say the other side is equally bad. They cannot defend; they just try to spread the failure as wide as possible.
