Actually non-government employees from the pharmaceutical companies were caught stealing billions and were not sent to jail.
Yeah, it was rhetorical. There are plenty of examples of non-government employees that have only been fired, not jailed for equivalent action.

I'm satisfied with seeing these guys fired. I don't need to see them jailed. Maybe hitting them with a fine too would be good. Dock their retirement plans 10%.

BT is stupid as usual. If someone in the private sector lied to get a couple hundred bucks of food stamp money most employers wouldn't even fire them and they certainly wouldn't be thrown in jail or charged with any crime.
