Not going that route again. Company #2 we've worked at together. Technology, for whatever reason, is inherently unstable as a career field. Not putting us in a position where all of our eggs are in one basket ever again.

I have told this story before. I returned from Christmas New Years holiday in early 80's. There was a downturn in the economy and I was told the morning I returned from the holidays, I was being let go. From that day forward I worked towards independence. Some jobs you cannot do unless you work for someone. But, mine was not one of those jobs. Over the years I have occasionaly worked for the local and federal government. But my destiny has always been in my own hands.
If you have any aptitude at all for accounting it is a profession where you can make your own way. None of sons are in accounting or I would give them a practice.

Try to appreciate the negative view here, guys. If he had stayed maybe he woulda got a severance package and he could always get unemployment benefits which are awesome!!!11
Maybe that's why they had no problems with him leaving last week.
