I will buy this for 15 bones at the end of the year. I wish I could hold out another six months and get it for ten bones, but I always jump at fifteen. I don't know why.
The only exception is if they already have some compelling DLC. Then I will wait another year or so and get the deluxe mega addition for fifteen.
D3 will still be $40 at the end of the year. And, by then, they'll have announced the release of D3.1 (the expansion with the REAL ending) for another $30.
You'll have to wait for 2014-2015 to get it for $15.

If you are looking for someone to blame for Blizzard's current plan, just look to Robert Kotick.
"Activision, Kotick said, has no interest in games that “don’t have the potential to be exploited every year on every platform with clear sequel potential and have the potential to become $100 million franchises.â€
Kotick’s goal over the past 10 years has been – you couldn’t make this up – “to take all the fun out of making video games.†How? By instilling a culture of “scepticism, pessimism, and fear†amongst the company’s staff based around the economic depression and an incentive program that rewards “profit and nothing elseâ€.
Great policies if you're selling soap, or staplers. Not really the corporate mindset we gamers/fans want encroaching upon Blizzard, where taking their time to get it right and following goals and dreams and aspirations, rather than spreadsheet marketing plans, is what has made them a success.
Also, where do you think all the Real ID stuff is coming from? Blizzard, at least their game depts, are made up of gamers. And virtually every gamer instantly hated the Real ID stuff, especially the real names in forums stuff they tried to make mandatory. That stuff was pure bean-counter, from someone who knows that Facebook is worth billions precisely because 99% of users are using their real names. Advertisers love that."

Blizzard is offering B3 for free if you commit to a 1 year sub to WoW. I haven't played Wow much at all, but, seems like a pretty good deal.

How is that a good deal? You won't play wow, and d3 is cheaper than 70$.

What my friend tells me of the closed beta it's "meh!"
Even less class modification then before, can't bind spells/skills to f1-f2 etc etc.. The classes just seems stupid and the armor even moreso.. It will be a huge hit fanbois all over the world will cream their pants and throw their money at blizzard.
No thnx!
Judging based on a beta is a horrible way to assume how the rest of the game is going to be
I agree with Sans, unfortunately game companies are starting to be ran by the same evil corporate strategist that have taken over most other big industries in the USA.

Although Blizzard has certainly decided to maintain a high price on many of their games, they will still eventually hit the bargain bin. I wasn't considering the blizzard model when I said what I did because you guys are right it will take a while.
Like Yuki though, I have never enjoyed this genre much.

Well, I didn't say I wouldn't play it and I was posting it here for other folks who might be interested. A year of WOW plus D3 for $150 or so sounds good if you are interested in both.

A while to say the least. Diablo 2 has been out for like what 11 or 12 years now?
