Open this thread up for all kinds of stories.
Reese's story reminds me of the first time I took my oldest son fishing. We were clear stream fishing for trout in the High Sierras. You could see the trout. I had a monster playing with my line. My son says: Dad I have to go the bathroom. I said: " ou have to hold it." Long story short... ten minutes I'm still playing with the lunker and my really young son crapped his pants.

One of my less finer moments was when I was standing guard at the Main gate at North Island Naval Air Station when a drunk Ensign (lowest officer rank) was walking through the gate decided he was going to prove he was a higher rank than me and behave like a jack-ass/talking down to me and the other guards. I decided not to call the civilian patrol and let them charge him with public intoxication when he asked for directions to the Officers Barracks.
I was more than happy to give him directions, to the far side of base near the USS Nimitz. Which put him approximately 2 miles away from where he wanted to be, and at least 1.5 miles from the gate.
I ruined his night, but not as bad as I could have.

When I was 17 my brother 18 joined the Canadian Military.
He retired at 23 years service.
I spent the whole time petrified.
