So I'm sure some of you know that Baen Books does this, but for those who don't know...


Baen periodically releases books in DRM-free ereader format... for free.

Edit: Should mention, you don't really need an ereader. When they release 'em they include an HTML version too. You can just read 'em online if you want.

On Basilisk Station is the perfect example of Sci-Fi I can't get in to. I'm not nay-saying the genre for those who enjoy it, but I find all of the technical detail mind numbing. It isn't just sci-fi technical detail, it has tons of endless world building that doesn't really matter.

I like 1-2 paragraph explanations.

Download the .mobi version and move it over using a program like Calibre.
