The real problem is that two weeks from now 25%+ of republicans will believe Bono made those statements, even if every time they show the video they make it a point to point out it is fake.

If their stupidity didn't shelter them from the full shame of their actions, their would be alot more republican suicides.

No matter how many times Hannity and Breitbart self pwn they just forge ahead and (stunningly) still manage to keep their audience. It's incredible.
I don't suppose either of them issued a retraction or apology...

I had a dream. It was an incredible dream. When I awoke, I had a huge mess to clean up.

Their audience doesn't care, because they are sure about the hypocrisy. To them this play was no different than reality. They aren't looking for objective sources of information, they are looking for confirmation of what they already know.
It's not just conservatives either. look at the way Ptilk reacted to the story about the retraction in this american life for their apple story. People who believe things are true don't really care if the confirmation is true or not, and they will be quick to label any information counter to their beliefs as unimportant or inaccurate.

That's a stupid conclusion. This American Life is a credible news source that made an error. Breitbart is a propaganda/smear outfit.

Please correct me if I am wrong (I haven't followed the apple/America Life story that much). But wasn't the issue about the reporter making it personal, not so much the correctness of the content?
Meaning the reporter lied about physically meeting xyz person and stuff like that. But the actual conditions and such were still true or basically true?
Anyone have a quick summary link for that whole fiasco?
