Why do we ask the Saudis to pump more when prices are too high?

It is just drilling/production in the US that doesn't have an effect. The US doesn't have enough untapped sources of cheap oil to be able to change the price; the Saudis do.

The saudis are the only people in the world with significant slack.
Drilling in the U.S. would have limited effect on the price of gas because there just isn't much slack that is profitable to drill at lower prices for.

You really don't understand why adding new drills in an oil-sparse region of the world can't compete with increasing production in an oil-rich region?

We actually have lots of oil here in the U.S.. But almost all of the cheaply available oil is already being extracted as quickly as we can. We are actually extracgin a lot more oil than we were just a few years ago. There is not really any cheap oil left that isn't already being extracted. If there was we'd be extracting it too.

I'd go back and edit my post to say "cheaply available" in there somewhere, but I really don't care that much.

The government owns 98% of the land in Alaska and about 86% of Nevada land. Overall, the feds own 65 percent of all the land west of the 100th meridian. Yet must less in the East

when you lock up all the oil then LIE !!!!! you only have only 2% of the would oil just so you and build wind frams that kill half a million birds a year to lower the nation’s carbon footprint

Twenty years ago they excuse was it would take 5 years before we see results. 15 years ago they used the excuse that it would take 5 years to see results. 10 years ago they used the excuse that we would not see results for 5 years. 5 years ago they use the excuse that it would take 5 years to see results.
Today we are pumping more than ever because of actions that Bush did. Guess what Obama is taking credit for? In two years we will see the results of his actions. When the price goes up I'm sure the liberals will scream, "It is useless to drill because we will not see results for 5 years."
They totally forget that the price of oil today is based on what people think the supply and demand will be in the future.
We have estimated oil in the trillions but only a fraction of that is proven. Just what Obama is using as an excuse for the high price of gas? The guy has no shame. Lies flow off his lips like hot honey.

There are three kind of liberals;
Stupid, ignorant or evil
The result is always evil but the intent is not always evil. Not that it makes much difference in the long run.

With out Bush, the price would be $8 a gallon like the Obama Admin wants.
