Besides there are a few theories about the earth swithing poles with some interval.

I can see it now. They decide that this is man caused. We need to have to start fixing this now, before it is too late. We will have a new Wall Street trade in magnetic credits. All metals will have a large tax and a huge government to regulate magnetic use.

The magnetic field does go through phases of weakening and strengthening states and the magnetic poles constantly move around. One day, like it has done in the past, the poles will switch and during that time it will briefly be much weaker

Interesting but the false buildup at the start of the piece makes for bad science documentation.

I thought the lowered state of the magnetic field was pretty much common knowledge.
Either way someone should call Al Gore before it's too late!
