He asked what happened in the end of ME3. My understanding is fat fanbois are mad because it has a FFVII style ending where it's not really clear what acutally happened. I said but lamer because apparently the ending is FFVII- style but lamer.

I don't really disagree. I'm just trying to explain what fat fanbois think without being one.
My understanding is people are mad about the ME3 ending because it doesn't really tell you what happens to anyone. That is very much like the FF7 ending was.

The game itself is incredible up until the ending. Some of the sequences are nothing short of genius, and the game can force some truly wrenching choices on you.
Its the last 10 minutes where things get iffy.

I would rather have the series end on this note than it continue to go downhill in each succeeding title. Apparently people disagree, and that is why they are butthurt about the ending.
