I want to have minority status. It's not like it was all corned beef and cabbage when we came over here. We've all seen Gangs of New York.
Even ginger status doesn't fully make up for it.

I agree that the Irish that lived in Milwaukee are most likely wetbacks that snuck in from Canada so they should have some different kind of ethnic classification.

I am reading a book about a character whose mother was 'black Irish' and the character has the mother's coloring.
I assumed that the character had brown skin so I was imagining them as Pam Grier, I just looked it up and it turns out that isn't what it means.
