I hope La Jolla tells him to STFU. You can bet all the other residents, rather well to do themselves and not used to even richer people building a house that will block their views and cause them months of hassle during constriuction, are going to fight him tooth and nail.
Lobbying notwithstanding I think he's going to be sorely dissapointed when his neighbors begin confounding him at every turn. That area is no place for a secure compoud.

It is less cool that his proposals amount to cutting his own taxes and cutting programs he doesn't benefit from.

Actually a big part of how he made his wealth was loading companies up with debt, extracting ruinous fees and then letting them go bankrupt.
