Could be a golden chance for some good fill-in-the-blank material for both late night talk show hosts and Republican candidates. One thing I wouldn't do though is put much stock in this as being something nefarious.

and why should he be? Do the candidates the GOP are running give you the feeling that they are desperately trying to remove Obama from office? After Bush's first term, almost anyone could have beaten him... until the Democrats ran their worst candidate ever: John Kerry. Why would they do that?
Obama's comments don't come across as confidence, they come across as inside information that he already knows.
