Let me see if I have this straight. They are taking a part of the cow that is normally wasted and turning into an affordable meat product that cost less than prime cuts of meat that is better for you and safer to than normal meat.
Yes, I can see how those who eat 500 dollar steak at their fine dining restaurant would be upset. The poor people should not eat as well as they do. Let's give this meat a catchy name, like "red slime". Makes you think there is something wrong with it. Of course everyone else call it meat but don't let science or facts get in the way of the agenda.
You have to admit that calling this meat "red slime" is effective. Remember when they got all those liberals demanding we ban water? The mindless mob is easy to direct.
Sad that so many people might lose their jobs over this. What do liberals care about jobs? Those that have one are happy and those that don't are supported by the government. Stop whining, shut up and do what we tell you to do.

No, you don't have it straight. That part of the cow was never wasted. It is also used for dog food and other such non-human consumption purposes.
That part of the cow isn't edible for humans in normal circumstances; it needs to go through a chemical treatment process first. It being safer is arguable, that is just based on the fat content with the assumption that because it has a lower total fat percentage, then it must automatically be better for you. And the stuff actually comes from a fatty part of the cow, but they use a centrifuge to separate the meat from the fat; this obviously doesn't do much for keeping any texture of the beef around.

Uh no. The problem was they were mixing this stuff in with the rest of the ground meat as an adulterating agent in order to make money more. Without telling anyone they were doing it.
When you buy ground beef at that market you don't assume it's going to have processed waste products in it. You assume it's ground beef. Not part processed beef waste that's been run through a machine to to turn it into edible pink slime they can mix in.
