The Laffer Curve is real! So what if we have no clue which area of the curve we are at.

Dems should be taking notes since passing a budget seems to be beyond their ability.

They don't need to take notes on how to write a crappy, disengenuous budget that only the most severe partisan would like.

They're already just as good as the Reps at doing that.

Don't forget that they added the repeal of the Affordable Care Act in their budget as well.

I think the Supreme Court is going to do that for them.

It is wildly improbable that the US gov't will ever function within the scope of a budget given the proclivities of out elected officials and the nature of a two party system.

....in short, typical big government Republican nonsense.

At least they have a proposal that passed.

Every democrat voted against Obama's budget.

You're right to mistrust them over this because they are probably being deceitful. However it should be noted that even if they truly planned to eliminate every deduction they would still refuse to specify which ones at this point. They either have to get some Democrats on board or they have to wait until after the elections before they get specific. Otherwise it's political suicide.

What would your thoughts be on a compromise where the Dems agree to the 25% top rate ceiling while raising capital gains up to 25%? Viable plan or non starter?

This budget gives the pentagon more money than it asked for. When questioned about it, its author, Paul Ryan, said the Pentagon was lying about how much money it needed. The Pentagon responds...

Quote:

Gen. Dempsey, the military’s top officer, took sharp exception to the chairman’s comments.

“There’s a difference between having someone say they don’t believe what you said versus … calling us, collectively, liars,” Gen. Dempsey told reporters aboard a U.S. military aircraft after a four day visit to Latin America. ”My response is: I stand by my testimony. This was very much a strategy-driven process to which we mapped the budget.”

Ryan is a joke.

Under Bush he argued that we must pass massive tax cuts or the government with all its extra cash from Clinton's balanced budget might start buying up private business.

Ryan is a complete moron. It is really pretty sad he is considered the GOP's great economic light.
